Macro photography workshop

Discover the magic of the miniature world with my Macro Photography Workshop in West Sussex. This immersive, small-group experience is perfect for photographers who want to capture stunning close-up images of insects and nature at their very best.

Choose from early morning or late evening sessions, each offering unique photographic opportunities. The early morning workshop is ideal for photographing insects covered in beautiful dew drops, when they are calmer and easier to approach. Evening sessions provide soft, golden light and a different atmosphere for creative macro shots.

As this workshop is run entirely by me, I keep group sizes small so everyone receives plenty of individual attention. I also offer one-to-one workshops for those who want to make the most of the experience and leave with truly unique images. I’ll guide you through camera settings, lighting, composition, and focus techniques, helping you create sharp, eye-catching macro photographs with confidence.

Places are limited to keep the experience relaxed and hands-on. If you’re looking to improve your macro photography and capture images you’ll be proud of, this workshop is for you.

Recommended Kit :

Please bring your own photographic equipment. Any brand of macro lens will work well. A sturdy tripod is essential, as even the slightest movement can affect image sharpness. A ball head is recommended for easier positioning, and I do have a spare tripod and head available if needed. A cable release or remote shutter is also important. Other helpful items include clamps, ground mat for comfort, spare batteries, and plenty of free space on your memory cards. Also flash with diffuser if you have.
